This African Proverb Holds Your Key To Success

Hey guys I’m Vicky Murgatroyd from Life Empowerment Project and welcome to this week’s blog. This week, I wanted to share with you something a little bit different. I wanted to share an African proverb that has something massive to do with your success, and how you’re going to get there.

So this was something that I came across online – as we come across so much information now – and I’ve shared it with al my clients and all the groups I run, because to me it just epitomises everything. It epitomises all the shifts that I’ve made and the shifts that I see other women make continually and really allows them to step into their power.

The African proverb says ‘when there is no enemy within, the enemy without can do us no harm’. THAT is what it’s all about. That’s what we do with our program Master Your Emotions, and that is all about you taking control of you. Knowing that there are certain patterns and certain habits, beliefs etc within you that have the possibility to derail your success, and that you become very reactive to. When we resolve those internal issues, those things that come from external – the criticisms, the doubts, the attacks, etc – they become meaningless; because you’re so certain, you’re so centred, you’re so sure within yourself your vision and your mission. You know exactly what you’re here to do. The external literally has no effect on you – water off a duck’s back as they say.

That is exactly what it is – that is where your peace lies, your freedom lies. Nobody can knock you off kilter. You’re here for your purpose and that’s all there is. When you’re that centred and sure of yourself, you can move mountains. Really and truly; you can move mountains and create anything you want to.

When there is no enemy within, the enemy without can do us no harm.

Let’s pull it back to before you’ve got to that stage – before you’ve eliminated the enemy within. We allow that external criticism and external judgement, or even praise on the other end of the scale, to really determine our responses and reactions to things, and therefore control our behaviours essentially. You’re giving your power to someone else when you’re not fully owning and controlling yourself.

Again, when you pull it back, you get in contact with yourself and operate from your purpose and values, and don’t waver from these, you live a life of absolute joy.

You know precisely what goes on within you to make that reality externally happen. Then the enemy without can do you no harm.

That is your absolute seat of freedom, as I said, and from that mindset – as I always say, you can enjoy the journey as you go – it’s not about some elusive destination that you never quite reach – leaving you with that underlying feeling of ‘not quite being there yet’ – it’s the joy of the journey.

When there’s no enemy within, the enemy without can do us no harm.

That is the position that everybody on earth deserves to be in. Be in tune with yourself, be in touch with yourself, be free…and give that to other people.

I hope this has helped – as I said, this is a little bit of a different approach to the blog today, but this is something amazing that I wanted to share that has changed my life and has changed so many other people as well. Get on board!

When there’s no enemy within, the enemy without can do you no harm.

That’s where you deserve to be!

In the mean time, live empowered and be inspired.
